About us
Craig Stewart, our sole principal, is a chartered building surveyor with 20 years of experience within the construction industry.
Craig’s career in surveying started in 2004 as a trainee surveyor for a well-respected Edinburgh based damp and timber preservation contractor. This not only provided experience in the contractor role, but also provided early training in property surveys, report writing, works progress and inspections.
Shortly after this trainee role, Craig sat and passed the Property Care Association (PCA) certifications in Certified Surveyor in Damp & Timber in Buildings (CSDTB) and Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW). These certifications are evidence of a surveyor having the knowledge and skills required to identify, resolve and report upon problems relating to dampness, timber infestation and decay in buildings and are industry recognised.

Since, Craig has gained broad experience across the industry working in housing maintenance and investment for over 6 years and a further 6 1/2 years in property and construction consultancy. During this time Craig has primarily provided clients from all backgrounds with damp and timber decay reports, condition surveys and roof surveys, alongside contract administration services.
With certification in the Principal Designer role, Craig also has full awareness, understanding and experience in compliance with the Construction Design and Management Regulations.
Craig became a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and has formed his own surveying business in 2024. This followed passing the RICS’s assessment of professional competence (APC) and shows Craig meets the high standards of professionalism required to operate as a chartered surveyor and has been assessed for a mix of technical, professional practice, interpersonal, business and management skills.
The business is providing a wide range of clients with building surveying services, with a specialism in independent damp and timber surveying.
Furthermore, the business is an RICS regulated firm and an independent surveyor member of the PCA.
